Our Philosophy
We believe that the highest level of human achievement is service- service to God and man. In our own little way, we have conceived the creation of Gloryland Model School & College as our contribution to wards the betterment of educational opportunities available to young people in our society.
We hope that through the cost-effective provision of world class education at Gloryland Model School & College, it can be demonstrated that a lot more is possible than we think.
We believe that our youngsters deserve better and that there is enough success for all. With a bit of human will, we can all work together to stamp out the scarcity mentality so prevalent in our society and replace it with abundance mentality where everybody is a winner. together, we can do great things and leave behind is a lasting legacy by making a big difference to the lives of many, hence our motto-“Take a step to a better future!”.

The Menace of INDECENT DRESSING in our Society.
Before the advent of Colonial masters, communities that were merged to form what is called Nigeria today are known for their rich culture and traditions used to dress in a decent and responsible manner. Women used to wear clothes that would cover all their erroneous zones, men used to dress in such a way that promoted traditional African culture. However, with the advent of colonialism, whereby the country was being ruled by the white people, some of the cherished values and aged-long traditions of these communities were bastardized and traded away. Nigerians find it difficult to dress in their local attire as it is regarded as “old and archaic” Nigerians abandoned their mode of dressing for the English wears. Since then, the sense of fashion of the colonial masters has become prominent. Today, many Nigerians cannot do without foreign dressing style. One thing that must be noted is that, many of these European modes of dressing have relegated our culture to the background and given prominence to strange culture. The idea of seeing a lady putting on trousers body revealing clothes and seeing a man sagging his trousers are what we have copied from foreign lifestyle. All these are strange to our culture. All these modes of dressing portray rascality and abnormal behavior in the society. In a traditional African society, wearing of mini skirt, bumper skirts, armless and seeing a man keeping dread locks or piercing his ears and sagging of trousers all in the name of fashion are abominable and embarrassing. We imbibe old culture to destroy our values in the name of civilization. Dressing in a manner that parents, society and religion frown at is not civilization. In Africa, mode of dressing commands respect and honour, your dressing could shows if you are responsible or not, serious minded or not. There is a saying that “you are addressed because of the way you dressed”. Good dressing is good business as it commands respect in all ramifications; and most especially, it saves women from being raped or sexually harassed. Indecent dressing is any mode of dressing that the society abhors which has to do with deliberate exposure of one’s body to the public. This practice is embraced by all ages in the society, it has been inculcated both the young and the old. But it is more prevalent among the youths and the celebrities, especially among artistes. Indecent dressing is seen as the major cause of the various assaults and sexual harassment recorded in the society. Sadly, many women have been sexually abused due to their provocative way of dressing, while many innocent guys have been arrested along with armed robbers just because of the way they dressed. The question is, who do we blame for indecent dressing in our society today the parents, the society or the government?
